Tiny Stars Together, Light Up Our Island

Community

The Islamic Center of Staten Island is located on the South Shore of Staten Island. Its location puts it in an area that was lacking an Islamic Center or any Muslim influence, and we felt that this location was needed not only for the Muslim community but for everyone in the area in order to build a strong multicultural, coexistent community on the South Shore of Staten Island.

It also has easy and quick access to major highways that can lead you almost anywhere, making it convenient for anyone to drive right off the highway and into our parking lot.

ICSI serves the Muslim South Shore Community along with other neighboring areas from Staten Island, New Jersey, and Brooklyn.

ICSI was established in July 2017 by a group of young individuals who grew up in the area and understood the needs they lacked growing up on the South Shore. They found it extremely important to establish this center to meet the needs of our growing community.

Alhamdullilah we have grown tremendously since then and continue to see an increase in our congregation.

ICSI provides several services including, but not limited to, five daily prayers, Friday prayer, study groups (halaqas), Ramadan programs (Taraweeh and weekend iftars), weekday and weekend Qur'an Academy, Sports leagues, women's programs, social services, youth programs, community events, and much more.

Mission

ICSI strives to establish a vibrant and diverse Islamic community working together to uphold moral and ethical values, practice the Islamic faith, and serve the Staten Island community as well as the broader community as guided by the Holy Quran and the life and teachings of the Prophet Muhammed (peace and blessings be upon him) through educational, social, religious, and cultural activities. ICSI strives to develop and enrich the lives of our youth by cultivating their sense of spirituality, leadership, and duty to better themselves and their community. ICSI strives to build bridges of understanding and respect with non-Muslim communities through interfaith and community service activities aimed at enhancing the lives of all citizens of the community.

Vision

ICSI's vision is to become an exemplary community serving the needs of all members of the community, upholding the highest of principles in words and deeds as prescribed by the Holy Quran and the teachings of the Prophet Muhammed (Peace be upon him), and perpetually seeking God's graces and blessings.
